Dashboard Views

Posted by Travis on December 4th, 2005

The first screen you’ll see when pulling up your site in Google Analytics is your default dashboard.

This dashboard is automatically set to “Executive” - however, you can change the default dashboard view using the instructions here.

Dashboard Basics

The first screen you see is called the “dashboard.” On the left-hand side are many options to choose from. Your stats will be populated on the right. By using the drop-down at the top left of your Analytics screen, you can choose which dashboard you’d like to see.

Remember: All the same information is available to you no matter which dashboard you use. The difference is just which statistics are made more easily accessible by putting them at the tops of the menus.

The three different dashboard types you can use are:

  • Executive: This gives you a very topline look at the site’s performance as your first few options. Read more about it here
  • executive dashboard

  • Marketer: This focuses more on search-engine, referral and ad campaign performance stats.
  • executive dashboard

  • Webmaster: This dashboard presents you first with the information about how your site is performing in regards to navigation and specific content.
  • executive dashboard
